Welcome to Avanzamos Unidos (AU), where we focus on addressing systemic barriers faced by the Latine community in Ohio, with a particular emphasis on economic empowerment, environmental justice, and educational equity. Our constituency includes Latine individuals across Ohio, spanning different socio-economic backgrounds and generations. We prioritize engaging with communities that have historically been marginalized and underserved.

Nuestro electorado incluye personas latinas en todo Ohio, que abarcan diferentes orígenes socioeconómicos y generaciones. Damos prioridad a la interacción con comunidades que históricamente han sido marginadas y desatendidas.
2024 presented a significant opportunity for Avanzamos Unidos to expand our work and deepen our impact in Ohio. That’s why we launched our "Vota Ohio" electoral campaign — to reach Latine voters with the information they needed to vote for candidates that would make a difference for our communities. Our team made over 46,000 calls in 11 days, connecting with close to 450 Latine voters across the state.

Es por eso que lanzamos nuestra campaña electoral “Vota Ohio”: para llegar a los votantes latinos con la información que necesitaban para votar por candidatos que marcarían una diferencia para nuestras comunidades. Nuestro equipo realizó más de 46,000 llamadas en 11 días, conectándose con cerca de 450 votantes latinos en todo el estado.
PUBLIC STATEMENT
January 28th, 2025— In this time of national uncertainty, our Latine community and allies committed to equity and justice face growing challenges. Recent legislative actions in the U.S. House threaten nonprofit organizations, highlighting the pressing need for vigilance and collective action. For too long, our communities have been left reacting to crises instead of being equipped to navigate them proactively.

Yet, in the face of fear and frustration, we remain hopeful. We move forward together—because our collective power is strongest when we stand in solidarity. Over the past weeks, the Young Latino Network (YLN) and Avanzamos Unidos (AU) have connected with Latine leaders across generations and with allies from all walks of life who are eager to protect the values of justice, compassion, and dignity.

Now is the time for all of us—nonprofits, businesses, faith-based institutions, and social groups alike—to educate ourselves and prepare. We must build the frameworks for crisis management, proactive advocacy, and mutual support that our communities need and deserve. This moment calls for us to continue organizing, speaking out, and showing up for one another, even amid uncertainty.

Let us remain hopeful yet vigilant. While it’s natural to feel heartbreak and frustration, we must channel these emotions into action and progress. Together, we will ensure our voices are heard, our rights defended, and our communities empowered to thrive—no matter the obstacles.
